Classical Pianist  • Piano Instructor

Nasim Moattar started playing the piano when she was only 4 years old. As a child, she had a great passion for learning different music styles, such as classical, pop, jazz, traditional, and more.  She started performing formal and informal concerts from a very young age and until this day she has performed various recitals and chamber music concerts in different countries throughout the world.
 
Nasim has been the recipient of many awards, prizes, and scholarships. She is an honorary member of Pi Kappa Lambda Honors Society. She has been a recipient of the Graduate Equity Scholarship and has presented her scholarly research in The 24th Annual Student Research and Creative Works Symposium at California State University, Northridge. She has also been a three-time recipient of the Department of Music Scholarship at California State University, Northridge.  She has been recognized as teacher of the year by California Music Studios, where she used to teach in San Diego, CA, and has also won many prizes in piano competitions in her home country, Iran.  

Nasim started teaching piano more than seventeen years ago and since then, she has been spending most of her time teaching music. She loves to combine her energy and passion for music with the enthusiasm and positive energy that different students with different personalities and musical skills bring to the lessons.​
Nasim is  a doctoral candidate (ABD) at the University of Oklahoma, pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. She studied applied piano with Dr. Jeongwon Ham, and piano pedagogy with Drs. Barbara Fast and Sara Ernst. She holds a summa cum laude Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Music degree with distinction in Piano Performance from California State University, Northridge where she studied applied piano with Dr. Dmitry Rachmanov and Professor Mark Richman, and piano pedagogy with Dr. Gayle Kowalchyk and Professor Edward Francis. Nasim currently serves on the piano faculty at California State University, Northridge.

Studio Policy:

  • Lessons are usually scheduled in 30, 45, 60 minute slots.

  • Students are Responsible for buying their music books.

  • You should give the instructor 24 hours notice in order for a missed lesson to be rescheduled.

  • There are no credits or refunds for last-minute cancelations (cancelations within 24 hours of the lesson time).

  • The tuition for each month is due on or before the first lesson of that month.
