ABOUT

Nasim Moattar started playing the piano when she was only 4 years old. As a child, she had a great passion for learning different music styles, such as classical, pop, jazz, traditional and so on. She started performing formal and informal concerts from a very young age and until this day she has performed various recitals and chamber music concerts in different countries throughout the world.
 
Nasim has been the recipient of many awards, prizes, and scholarships. She has been a two-time recipient of William Richards Memorial Scholarship in 2015 and 2016 CSUN’s Department of Music Honors Convocation. She has also successfully made it to the Dean’s list for four consecutive semesters (fall and spring) in 2015-2016. She has been recognized as teacher of the year by California Music Studios, where she used to teach in San Diego, CA and has also won many prizes in piano competitions in her home country, Iran.

Nasim started teaching piano and voice more than fourteen years ago and since then, she has been spending most of her time teaching music. She loves to combine her energy and passion for music with the enthusiasm and positive energy that different students with different personalities and musical skills bring to the lessons.

Nasim has had a privilege of traveling to European countries and cities, such as Switzerland, Vienna, Russia, and Armenia, and to participate in different master classes of some of the greatest masters in this field. Her great passion for music has led her to study this major academically and she holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from California State University, Northridge. She is currently working towards her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance.
